The West African Examination Council (WAEC), has highlighted ways in which date of birth and sex can be corrected on the senior school leaving certificate.
It made the statement in response to an inquiry regarding the issue on its twitter page.
The examination body listed the following as requirements .
Sworn affidavit
Photocopyof birth certificate
Administrative fee of ten thousand naira (#10,000) only
And a letter of application.
It added that the original birth certificate must be sighted by a WAEC staff when submitting the application.
A twitter user then responded that he made payment for the same compliment but it has not been given due response for the past one year.
But WAEC, in another tweet changed the narrative by saying that the examination body, which comprises of five(5) member states has stopped the amendment of biodata.
Candidates should be careful during registration to avoid this disaster because of the exorbitant fee the amendment process attracts.
