Adversity and Resilience in Children

Harvard university Center on Developing Child has discovered the effect of adversity on children’s healthy development and its importance in the progress and development of any society.


According to the institution, children respond differently to adversity, not all experience “lasting harm” from adverse early experience as most of them are able to recover from the harmful exposure or adaptive to unfavorable conditions.

The organization said a better understanding of what makes children to do well despite experiencing negative circumstances is important because it helps them come up with policies and programs that help more “children reach their full potential.” READ MORE
